Team 3313 Mechatronics: A PACK EXPO Chicago Success Story!

June 26, 2025

We're still buzzing with excitement from our incredible experience at PACK EXPO Chicago, and we're thrilled to share how impactful this event was for Team 3313 Mechatronics from Alexandria, Minnesota! This wasn't just another trade show; it was an immersive dive into the world of packaging and processing, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities for our students.

Our team had the unique chance to demonstrate our team's robot and witness cutting-edge technologies, explore innovative solutions, and connect with industry leaders firsthand. From robotic automation to sustainable packaging materials, the sheer breadth of innovation on display was truly inspiring. Our students engaged in insightful conversations with engineers, designers, and business professionals, gaining invaluable perspectives on the future of this dynamic industry.

One of the most significant aspects of our PACK EXPO journey was the direct impact of the PMMI U Skills Fund. These funds were instrumental in making this experience possible for Team 3313. They provided crucial support for our travel, accommodation, and participation, ensuring that our students, regardless of their financial background, could access this incredible educational opportunity. These funds have also been received throughout the season and have positively impacted each student in their journey through the robotics season.

The PMMI U SkillsFund is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry demands. For our team, this translated into:

We saw our students' eyes light up as they discussed complex machinery, asked probing questions about industry trends, and even brainstormed potential solutions to real-world packaging challenges. This isn't something you can replicate in a classroom, and it's precisely why experiences like PACK EXPO are so vital.

A huge thank you to PMMI and the PMMI U Skills Fund for their unwavering support of educational initiatives like ours. Their investment in the next generation of skilled professionals is truly making a difference. We returned from Chicago not just with souvenirs but with a renewed sense of purpose, expanded knowledge, and invaluable connections that will undoubtedly shape the future endeavors of Team 3313 Mechatronics. We're already looking forward to returning!
